Joel McKinnon is the owner and president of McKinnon Insurance Agency, a Farmers Insurance agency with offices in Dover and Navarre, Ohio. He leads the agency’s work with individuals, families, and business owners, with a particular focus on commercial insurance.
Joel earned his degree in Management and Marketing from Ashland University in 2003 and began his Farmers Insurance career that year. At Ashland, he played football, participated in the Eagle Investment Group, and met his wife, Tricia Herzig-McKinnon.
His Farmers recognition includes Presidents Council, Championship, Topper Club, Blue Vase, and Life Masters honors. He has also been recognized as an Elite Commercial Agent and has spoken about social media marketing at Farmers events and conferences.
Joel and Tricia live in Dover and have three children: Jack, Stone, and Klaire. His community involvement includes coaching youth sports, supporting youth programs, and volunteering with local charities.

Aaron Mast
Office Manager • Commercial Lines Specialist
Aaron Mast is the office manager and commercial lines specialist at McKinnon Insurance Agency in Dover, Ohio. He has been with the agency since 2014 and helps business owners review insurance needs, understand coverage options, and identify potential gaps.
Aaron’s insurance career began alongside his father, Bryan Mast, and grandfather, Tom Hamsher, at his grandfather’s agency. That family background shaped his approach to client service and long-term relationships. He brings more than two decades of insurance experience to his work.
A 2003 Walsh University graduate with a degree in Marketing, Aaron combines his business education with practical experience in property and casualty insurance and agency operations.
Aaron lives in Dover with his wife, Diana, and their three sons, Jaxson, Liam, and Beckham. His community involvement includes the Tornado Club, Dover youth sports coaching, and local events.

Originally from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Everett lives in Steubenville, Ohio, with his wife, Bretton, and their daughters, Violet and Darcy. He attended Serra Catholic High School in McKeesport, Pennsylvania, and continued his education at Mercyhurst University and Washington & Jefferson College.
Outside work, Everett enjoys military history, especially the medieval and Renaissance periods, as well as metal music and concerts.

As Joel McKinnon’s son, Jack continues the agency’s family tradition of client service while building experience alongside the team. His work includes conversations about auto and home insurance and helping clients connect with agency resources.
Jack attends John Carroll University and plays on its football team. Balancing college, athletics, and agency work gives him opportunities to develop teamwork, communication, and time-management skills.

Growing up in a Farmers Insurance household introduced Stone to the agency and its people early in life. He enjoys being part of the Farmers family and contributing alongside the team.

Darlene Kieffer is an insurance agent with McKinnon Insurance Agency’s Navarre, Ohio office, serving Navarre, Massillon, and surrounding communities. She brings more than 30 years of insurance experience and a focus on personal service.
Darlene built her agency over more than a decade with Farmers Insurance before partnering with McKinnon Insurance Agency in September 2026. The partnership combines her local relationships and experience with the support of the broader agency team.
She continues to meet clients at the Navarre office and conduct coverage reviews. Her approach centers on knowing the people she serves, answering questions, and helping clients understand their options as circumstances change.
